May 13, 2008:

INFORMATIONAL FAIR (SPOKES)
The Klamath Basin Senior Citizen's Council and Lifespan Respite Care of SPOKES Unlimited will be hosting an Informational Fair for Seniors and Caregivers on May 13, from 11AM-2PM. 

This is a great opportunity to connect with potential business customers and/or future agency clients. The table fees will be used to cover an ad in the Herald and News. Only those who have pre-paid the fee by May 1, 2008 will be listed in the newspaper advertisement. Just call SPOKES Unlimited and talk with Myra Stroh (541) 883-7547.

Lunch will be offered to all during the regular congregate meal time (11:30 to 12:00). The American Legion will be on hand to cook the hamburgers and hotdogs.

Anyone under 60 years of age who is not a Care Provider to a senior and/or disabled family member will be required to pay $4.00 dollars for lunch. Caregivers and seniors over 60 years of age are encouraged to make a donation for lunch. In addition to the hamburgers and hotdogs, the Senior Center kitchen will be providing potato salad and baked beans, etc.

50th Anniversary Banquet (Gospel Mission)
6:30 - 7:30 PM - Running Y Resort.

If you would like to partner with the Gospel Mission to sponsor a table at the Banquet for $190.00 you will get 4 superior dinners and the other 4 dinners will be a gift to a longstanding partner of the Mission. Youth Developement Network Training Overview:
Join the Klamath-Lake Area Youth Development Network for a day of training. Q & A seminar topics will include Volunteer Recruitment/Retention, Empowering Youth Involvement, Working with Delinquent and Incarcerated Youth, & Event Planning with Business Partnerships. Breakout workshops will be held on Logic Models, Grant Readiness, Social Networking Websites, and TBD Training Staff to Succeed with Volunteers.

Description: Committed Partners for Youth, a great mentoring program from Eugene Oregon, will bring their insight and ideas on their past success and will spend time sharing techniques and strategies on what makes their program work so well. This Q & A seminar will last from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. and will continue with a luncheon roundtable discussion. From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm 2-3 workshops will be available to choose from including “Creating and Implementing a Logic Model”, presented by Citizens for Safe Schools Debbie Vought, and “Grant Readiness”, presented by local City Council Person and longtime grant writer Trish Seiler. There will also be opportunities for tutorial sessions on the YDN “wiki” website during lunch.
